I got a good-natured ribbing from my book group tonight. I have to lead the January discussion. I chose Ahab’s Wife, by Sena Jeter Naslund, inspired by Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.
When the book was brought to me, the first thing out of my mouth was, “Oh, my God! Everyone’s going to kill me!” It is 600 pages. I hope everyone likes it. I chose it out of desperation. I’ll start now to think of titles for more voting in January.
I’m actually looking forward to reading it. We’ll see if I’m proven right.
